1. Who we are
Opportunity Network Insider ("ONI") is operated by Tumelo Sebokoane, Johannesburg, South Africa. We are the responsible party for personal information collected through newoni.netlify.app and related services.

2. What data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identity & contact data — your name and email address, provided at checkout or email opt-in.
- LinkedIn profile data — information you voluntarily input into the ONI Authority Auditor (headline, About section, posting frequency, profile completeness), used solely to generate your personalised report.
- Payment data — processed securely by Paystack. ONI does not store card numbers, banking credentials, or payment details.
- Usage data — anonymised analytics on how pages are accessed (views, session duration). No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
3. How we use your data
Your personal information is used only for the following purposes:
- To deliver the product or service you purchased.
- To send you your audit report, content sets, or session materials.
- To send the ONI newsletter and relevant product updates — only if you opted in.
- To respond to support queries or complaints.
- To improve our platform, products, and user experience.
We will never use your data for purposes beyond those listed without obtaining your explicit prior consent.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We share limited data only with trusted service providers who help us operate ONI:
- Paystack — payment processing, South Africa.
- MailerLite — email list management and newsletter delivery.
- Netlify — website hosting and serverless infrastructure.
- Google Gemini API — AI processing used to generate your Authority Auditor score and report. See Section 5 below for important details on how this provider handles your data.
All third-party service providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the specific purposes we designate.
5. AI processing & the Authority Auditor
When you use the ONI Authority Auditor, the LinkedIn profile information you submit (headline, About section, posting details, and similar inputs) is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate your authority score, pillar breakdown, and headline suggestions.
We currently use Gemini's free-tier API service. Under Google's terms for this tier, submitted prompts and generated outputs may be used by Google to improve their AI models. This differs from a paid API tier, where inputs are not used for model training.
In practical terms, this means the profile information you enter into the Auditor could be reviewed or used by Google in this process, separate from any use ONI makes of it. We do not control how Google handles data under their own terms.
If you would prefer not to have your information processed this way, we recommend avoiding submission of highly sensitive personal details into the Auditor's input fields, beyond what is necessary for an accurate score (e.g. your public LinkedIn headline and About text, which are already publicly visible).
We are actively working toward moving the Auditor to a paid AI tier with no model-training data use, and will update this section and notify active subscribers when that change is made.
6. Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as is necessary to provide our services and meet any applicable legal obligations. If you request deletion of your data, we will complete this within 14 business days of receiving your request.
Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any ONI email, which will remove you from all future sends.
7. Your rights under POPIA
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to our processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Withdraw consent for email communications at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your rights have been violated.

8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. All payment transactions are encrypted and processed by PCI-DSS compliant providers.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use strong, unique passwords for your accounts.
9. Cookies
Our website may use cookies for basic functionality and anonymised analytics. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising, retargeting, or profiling. You may disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to access ONI content.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers via email with at least 7 days' notice. The updated policy will always be available at newoni.netlify.app/privacy.
